The problem
Malayala Manorama, Kerala's #1 media house, needed a statewide quiz competition that could run live for thousands of school students at once — with instant scoring, fair tie-breaks and leaderboards that update in real time without buckling under load.
What I built
- Architected the front end in React with a real-time scoring engine and live leaderboards.
- Designed the data model so concurrent submissions stay consistent and tie-breaks are deterministic.
- Built an admin flow for running rounds, opening/closing questions and monitoring participation live.
Outcome
Ran live across Kerala for thousands of students with real-time leaderboards holding up under concurrent load.
